2018 Patrice Beguet 'Go Together Rouge'
Grape/s: Gamay, Savagnin, Trousseau, Grenache Noir
Patrice's Mathematical background once again showing in this wine. A lot going on in the blends but very well executed. All hand picked and made up of 40% Grenache Blanc (Mont Ventoux), 40% Melon de B (Loire), 20% Chardonnay (Bugey). 30 % was directly pressed and into stainless. 30% had a long maceration of 6 months on skins in oak Barrels and 40% had 4 weeks maceration on skins in Accacia barrels. Fermentation by indigenous yeast and no sulphites or filtration at any stage. Red apple, orange blossom, mandarin, white peach and cumin. There is a spritz on entry with spice, honey and orange marmalade. Very juicy and delicious flowing really well on the palate to a fine tannin back end with quite a long finish. A lot going on but so well balanced. - Greg Murphy WIne Importers
